Pressure Reducing Stations for LPG / Natural Gas in Industrial, Commercial and Residential Applications :
Pressure of LPG/Natural Gas are required to be kept at a predecided level in order to avoid damage to the Burners/downstream equipments.
These Gas Trains comprise of Pressure reducing valve and few Safety equipments which are Self operated and doesnot require any external energy such as Electrical power.
Isolation Valves : To isolate the system from main supply or to isolate the either side of PRS.
Gas Filter : A filter protects the system from any rusty particles or dust that may carried with gas stream.
The dirt in the pipeline may occur during installation or construction of the gas train.
Slam shut off Valve : Slam shut off valve is installed after Filter & before pressure regulator. Slam shut off valve close the supply of gas when a downstream pressure exceeds a pre-determined limit.
Pressure regulator : Pressure regulator maintains downstream pressure at predefined level of gas , irrespective of variation in upstream pressure from maximum to minimum limit. Spring loaded or Pilot operated pressure regulators are used.
Creep relief Valve : A slight weeping of pressure regulator/ increase in downstream due to rise in downstream surrounding temperature result in increasing the downstream pressure to dangerous level, such creep pressure is blown off through creep relief valve.
Safety Relief Valve : The safety relief valve set at higher pressure than slam shut off valve so that the safety relief valve will operate when slam shut off valve fails to operate.
Pressure gauges : To monitor upstream and downstream pressure, the pressure gauges are installed. Isolation valve is provided with each pressure gauge for easy replacement of pressure gauges in case of failure.
Heaters : After pressure reduction of Natural gas,there is a possibility of icing of pipeline from inside/outside.To avoid this,Gas is preheated by means of Electric/Electrical water bath heaters.
